FSS families will agree the beating heart of our city is Friends Select School. For us, Friends Select is where our children spend the better part of their week growing brighter, stronger, and more inquisitive. Their growth can be seen daily at home, in the classrooms, on the sports fields, and on stage, both virtually and in person. We are constantly impressed by the community of teachers, coaches, and students. The world needs more Friends Select students. Join us for the first ever Virtual 5K Run, Walk, Bike, and Bid-a-thon in support of Friends Select School.

How do I participate in the 5K Run, Walk, or Bike part of this event?
Set up your 5K page (free) by clicking the "Start Fundraising" button on the 5K website here. Once you create your page, you can customize it by adding pictures or video, connecting to a Facebook live feed, or your Strava account. Share your page with family and friends asking them to support you. When you are ready to run, walk, or bike your 5K, pick your route and go for it any time between March 12-21. Use Strava to record your time and route or just share about it on your page with pictures! Share your 5K page and pictures on our Facebook event page so we can be In Community, In Spirit together! 

What do I get if I finish the 5K?
A warm and fuzzy feeling that you just supported an incredible school. Plus all participants who set up a fundraising page and raise at least $25 will be sent one official 2021 In Community, In Spirit finisher's medal and bandana.

How can I run, walk, or bike the 5K or bid without setting up a 5K page?
You can register here and we will send you one official 2021 In Community, In Spirit finisher's medal and bandana. We want to hear about your experience. Share photos on our Facebook event page or email them to familyassociation@friends-select.org.

With your partnership, we will meet this challenging time head on. At Friend Select School, we are looking at our core values and finding again and again that our community is what unites us. We are a community of lifelong learners determined to make a positive impact in the world. Please consider contributing an item for our spring online auction, part of this year’s Run, Walk, Bike, and Bid-a-thon in support of Friends Select School.

100% of item proceeds will be spent on supporting FSS students and teachers, through the Friends Select Fund, our annual giving program. This fund covers teacher salaries, library books, lab equipment, sports uniforms, computers, art supplies, musical instruments, and more. It is financial aid assistance for students who need it most, and COVID-19 testing to keep our families and teachers safe.
